Between LR Broly, The original STR SSR Broly (Attack All), PHY Mono God Broly, the LR Androids, and everything else going on, it’s become just about mandatory that you be able to defeat Broly in the Dokkan Battle Event Berserker of Destruction — and on Super Difficulty to boot.
Clearing Berserker of Destruction > Level 3: The Demon Returns on Super Difficulty not only makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something (and you have), but it also drops 7 of the Dokkan Awakening Medal “Kakarot”. This medal is vital for Dokkan Awakening some powerful characters in Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle.

These are the characters that require Dokkan Awakening medals dropped on the stage Berserker of Destruction when you beat Broly:
1. Indestructible Saiyan Evil Legendary Super Saiyan Broly
- Type: Extreme STR
- Max LvL: 150
- Rarity: LR
- Cost: 99
- Leader Skill: Ki +3 & HP, ATK, & DEF +90%
- Passive Skill: Inescapable Horror – When performing a Super Attack, ATK +80000 but DEF -20000, and launch an additional Super ATK
- Super Attack:
- Gigantic Meteor (12-17 Ki) – Causes colossal damage to all enemies

- Medals Required: 77 (Defeat Broly on super difficulty 11 times)
2. Eternal Horror Legendary Super Saiyan Broly
Eternal Horror Legendary Super Saiyan Broly required 77 Dokkan Awakening medals obtainable from the Dokkan Event Berserker of Destruction. Fighting Broly on Super Difficulty mode would mean that you would need to clear the stage 11 times.
3. Fusion of Legend Karoly
Fusion of Legend Karoly required 35 of the Dokkan Awakening Medal Kakarot. These can be obtained by defeating Broly on the Stage 3 of the Dokkan Event Berserker of Destruction titled The Demon Returns. You will have to beat Broly on Super Difficult 5 times to obtain enough Dokkan Awakening medals.
4. Super Warrior of Destruction Legendary Super Saiyan Broly
To Dokkan Awaken Super Warrior of Destruction Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, you will need 10 of the Dokkan Awakening medals Kakarot. The quickest way to do so will be to defeat Broly on Super Difficulty 2 times.
5. Unleashed Force Super Saiyan Broly
It will take 3 of the Dokkan Awakening medal Kakarot to Dokkan Awaken into Unleashed Force Super Saiyan Broly. One run of Broly on The Demon Returns on Super Difficulty will grant you 7, so that would be enough.
6. Limitless Energy Androids 17 & 18 (LR Androids)
The LR Androids only require 3 of the Dokkan Awakening medal Kakarot. You could clear the stage The Demon Returns (Broly on Super Difficulty) once and have more than enough.
Requirements to battle Broly on Super Difficulty
In order to face Broly on Super Difficulty in Dokkan Battle, you will have to first clear the other two stages in the Dokkan Event titled Berserker of Destruction.
Here is the order of the stages, as well as their difficulties:
As you can see from the table provided by Wikia, there are three levels total in the Dokkan Event Berserker of Destruction. The first level has three difficulties, from Normal to Z-Hard. Clearing each level once is all that is required to unlock the next level.
For example, in order to unlock Level 3: The Demon Returns (Super Difficulty Broly), you only need to defeat one difficulty of Level 1: Prologue to Ruin and one clear of Level 2: Awakening Beyond.
How to defeat Broly on Super Difficulty
Once you have made your way through level 1 and 2 of Berserker of Destruction, you will be able to take on Broly on Super Difficulty. Identified as Level 3: The Demon Returns, this level features three version of Broly that you would have already battled.
The main struggle between The Demon Returns and Awakening Beyond is not only the fact that you have to defeat Broly on Super Difficulty, rather than on Z-Hard, but also the fact that assembling a decent Blazing Battle team that will handle this workload is near impossible.
So what we will do here is discuss strategy, team building, and techniques to be used when figuring out how to defeat Broly on Super Difficulty in Dokkan Battle.
Note: This post is geared towards Global Dokkan players, so if you are playing on the JP version, other characters may be available.
Team Building for Broly on Super Difficulty
Defeating Broly on Super Difficulty is going to require a specific team composition. By that, I mean a team that can not only handle the type, but can also negate his passive abilities. What are his passive abilities? Glad you asked:
- Broly receives next to no damage from any attack, including Super Attacks, unless the characters have the link skill Blazing Battle
- Broly deals a very high amount of damage, and can even attack all, meaning multiple attacks in one turn
- Broly still retains the right to launch Super Attacks of his own
- Broly on Super Difficulty, on the stage The Demon Returns, does not wait any turns to start attacking (The previous stage usually gives you a couple of turns before he attacks)
Here is what I suggest to get around taking tons of damage while doing zero damage to Broly:
- Bring a mono-STR team, if possible (If not, bring mostly STR characters)
- Bring a character that can stun (SSJ3 Vegeta is your savior, if you have him)
- ***Bring a character whose Super Attack “greatly lowers DEF” – more on this in a minute
- Optional – Lower ATK of Broly
- ***Bring at least two characters who can output heavy damage
Bringing a mono-STR team allows you to have type-advantage against the first and last battle on Level 3: The Demon Returns. This helps greatly for the fact that you not only get to block PHY with STR, but you also will have a ton of extra HP, ATK, DEF & Ki.
Recommended leader(s) / friend(s) to take on Broly on Super Difficulty:
SSJ4 Goku – Super Type STR Type Ki +3, HP, ATK & DEF +120%; Extreme STR Type Ki +1, HP, ATK & DEF +50%
Omega Shenron – STR Type Ki +3, HP, ATK and DEF +70%
LR Broly – STR Type Ki +3 & HP, ATK, & DEF +90%
Either combination will work fine, but these three would be the best recommendations if you are able to bring a mono-STR team. If by chance you have all three, or even two of the three recommended leaders / friends, it would be best to consider the other characters that you have available.
In other words, if you have SSJ4 Goku, keep in mind that his leader skill is most effective if you have Super Type STR characters. Basically, he is going to be a great leader if you are able to put together a team of mostly Super-Type STR characters that are able to block, stun, lower DEF and/or ATK, and nuke.
If you will be bringing a mix of Super and Extreme-Type STR characters, and have LR Broly, I would recommend that you bring him as your leader / friend. Alternatively, if you do not have him, Omega Shenron will work great as well.
Omega Shenron is the leader that I used to defeat Broly on Super Difficulty, and had zero problems. At the time that I was clearing this stage, LR Broly was not available as a friend, nor did I have him, and SSJ4 Goku was not even around.
What if I don’t have any of the recommended leaders?
This will be a tough battle if you do not have any of the leaders shown above. The reason being is that Broly can hit very hard, and on Super difficulty this battle will not be an easy one any way you look at it. Mono / Neo/ God leaders allow you to increase HP, Ki, ATK & DEF by incredible amounts, meaning that your whole team will benefit and perform much better in battle.
If you have access to one of the recommended leaders as a friend, I would recommend choosing a leader that increasing HP & DEF or ATK & DEF for your team, Ki too if possible. But search hard for an appropriate leader that best suits your team. SSGSS Vegito might be a great fit, if you are bringing mostly Super-Type characters.
Now, for the rest of the team composition; First up – Lowering DEF
There are many other characters capable of lowering DEF, but keep in mind that Super Difficulty Broly’s DEF is extremely high. So if you bring SSJ3 Gotenks, you will spend many rounds launching supers and taking tons of damage before you are able to return any sort of damage.
For a full list of characters that can lower DEF, refer to the Wikia site by clicking this link.
Next up – Stunning / Sealing Broly on Super Difficulty
To stun is to win sometimes. This may very well be the case when you enter Level 1: The Demon Returns. I recommend here that if you have STR SSJ3 Vegeta, you bring him no matter what leader / team comp that you bring. His blocking potential as well as the fact that he is a stun-machine makes him one of the greatest assets for your team.
If you do not have SSJ3 Vegeta, there are other characters who are able to stun, such as Ultimate Gohan. As of right now, SSJ3 Vegeta shown above is the only STR-Type character with a high chance to stun. While on one hand you may find it helpful to bring a different character that can stun, you may also find it more beneficial to find a character who can seal Broly’s super attack.
For a full list of characters that can stun, please click this link to go to Wikia’s STUN / KNOCK OUT page.
Sealing Super Attacks is another greatly way to keep your win rate high
Though I would probably recommend keeping with the chance to stun, sealing is a great way to reduce the damage taken. Keep in mind that there is currently only one recommended character to bring that is STR-Type to take on Super Difficulty Broly; Majin Buu (Gotenks).
Other possible sealing options, though not STR-Type, will be PHY, TEQ or INT Super Saiyan Bardock, and SSR PHY Super Saiyan Gotenks.
Optional – Lower ATK of Broly
Rilldo was a great choice for my team because he linked very well, has great DEF, and I was able to launch his Super often enough. That being said, I do not recommend bringing a character that can Lower ATK unless they also benefit your team comp in at least one other way.
While it is nice to lower the ATK of Broly on Super Difficulty, bringing down his defense is going to be more beneficial. Your goal is going to be to defeat him as quickly as possible. Lowering ATK tends to reset, and Super Attacks often times ignore the stat change or are not greatly affected by such.
Broly on Super Difficulty can be Nuked, so Nuke him!
Level 3: The Demon Returns can be one of the most frustrating stages / events in Dokkan Battle. Especially if you have a nuke like Super Gogeta, and are used to dealing tons of damage with every attack. The very first time you launch Super Gogeta’s Super Attack on the 2nd or 3rd round of The Demon Returns, you will find that you are only able to dish out around 100 damage.
This, of course, is assuming you do not crit or have Dokkan Mode activated. This is why bringing a character that is able to greatly lower DEF is going to be so important. After just one super attack that lowers Super Difficulty Broly’s DEF, your nuking characters like Super Gogeta will be back to doing heavy damage.
STR-Type Characters that can Nuke Broly:
- Super Gogeta: Soul Punisher – Causes Immense Damage to Enemy
- Omega Shenron: Minus Energy Power Ball – Causes immense damage to enemy and greatly lowers DEF
- LR Broly: Gigantic Meteor (12-17 Ki) – Causes colossal damage to all enemies; Omega Blaster (18+ Ki) – Causes mega-colossal damage to enemy. LR Broly’s passive = When performing a Super Attack, ATK +80000 but DEF -20000, and launch an additional Super ATK (Gigantic Meteor will be launched)
- SSJ4 Goku: x10 Kamehameha – Causes immense damage; DEF +30% for 6 turns
Recommended Items for Super Difficulty Broly
One thing that you will find when taking on Level 3: The Demon Returns on Super Difficulty is that items are preference. For the most part, you will have four items that are pretty standard for just about every stage.
For this stage, I bring the traditional item combination of Senzu Bean, Dende, Ghost Usher, and King Yemma. This allows for timely healing, increased DEF, and removing Broly from attacking for one full turn.
If you have the right characters and play them correctly (some luck in terms of stunning and blocking will play a part), you will need little to no items. The best thing to do from this point on is to play the stage with the recommendations shown above, find your groove, and collect those medals!
