The Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, The Berserker of Destruction, The Original “Impossible” Dokkan Battle Z-Hard Event – Now it’s a Cakewalk.
Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle has released a new stage of “Berserker of Destruction” which is Super Difficulty, costs 50 Stamina, and is just insanely difficult. But for some, that is not even the event they need to tackle first. For many of us, we still want to Dokkan Awaken STR Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, or even the farmable Lurking Fear Broly [SR] from the stage Prologue to Ruin.
Side note: I recommend you farm ten (10) of this character under Berserker of Destruction > Prologue to Ruin > Z-Hard, to max out his Super Attack before you Dokkan Awaken Lurking Fear Broly [SR] into Unleashed Force Super Saiyan Broly. The reason for this is because once you Dokkan Awaken Lurking Fear Broly, you will not be able to increase his super attack unless you Dokkan Awaken multiple Lurking Fear Broly characters or you train him with Elder Kai.
This goes for every character as well; in order to increase a character’s super attack, you must train with either the same character – or in some cases a character of higher value.
Now, onto defeating the stage Berserker of Destruction > Awakening Beyond to defeat Legendary Super Saiyan Broly and Dokkan Awaken him.
Dokkan Battle tells us that in order to defeat Stage 2: Awakening Beyond, we must bring certain characters that have specific link skills and even passive skills. For instance, the link skill to defeated Broly is Blazing Battle. I will attest and say that yes, if you do not have a team that is filled mostly with characters with this link, you will have a hard time. But there are some things you should be aware of.
First – If you can, bring Super Gogeta. Obviously the higher level of Super Gogeta the better, and if you can bring Super Gogeta as your leader plus a friend Super Gogeta, you are better off. The reason is not just because he is a monster of a character, but he breaks the rule of this stage. Super Gogeta destroys Legendary Super Saiyan Broly on Z-Hard in Dokkan Battle.
Super Gogeta does not fall victim to Broly’s passive on this stage, he hits for full damage. Note: Super Gogeta is effective on the Super Difficulty version, but only under certain circumstances – more on that later. Again, if you can – bring as many Super Gogetas as allowed. Obviously we want to use him for his damage, so it should go without saying that you want to make sure he gets to use his Super Attack every possible chance.
Next – You probably can’t make a full Blazing Battle team, but that does not really matter. Notice my team above has four characters with Blazing Battle, and three of which are AGI type. This helps greatly, as our Z-Hard Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is STR type. So not only can they cancel his rampage (sometimes), they are the type that counters his type.
For my team composition, even if I was missing a character or two that did not have the link skill Blazing Battle, I would just bring AGI type characters that link well with my Super Gogeta. Notice that I also bring Golden Frieza, as he is the king of blocking – so long as you are above 50% HP.
For items, I bring Sensu Bean, Dende, King Yemma, and Ghost Usher. For this stage I typically do not need to use a single item. That’s how strong your team can be with Super Gogeta. Especially if you can bring a friend Super Gogeta with a level 10 Super Attack. Or even better, if you have a Super Gogeta with a level 10 Super Attack!
Keep in mind that Blazing Battle and passives are sometimes Ignored
Again, Dokkan Battle tells us that if we bring characters that have the link skill Blazing Battle and/or have a passive that disables Rampage, it will stop Legendary Super Saiyan Broly from using his passive called “Rampage”. This means that you should be able to stop him from attacking your line-up and you will be able to do normal damage to him, instead of heavily reduced damage.
That being said, and I am aware that we are supposed to place said characters directly in front of the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly that is about to active his skill, I have still experienced flaws. For instance, and I think it may be a glitch, Supreme Warrior Awakened Super Saiyan Goku (shown in the picture of my team up top) tends to not disable Broly’s Rampage.
While the obvious “fix” would be to place a different character in the blocking position, sometimes that is simply not possible. Dokkan Battle randomizes the order in which your character show up in battle. So when trying to beat Legendary Super Saiyan Broly from Awakening Beyond, you may have to use this character as a blocker.
Kill him before he kills you
Many events, I will advise that you bring a certain team comp: at least 1 nuker, sealer, and stunner. In this case, I focus on characters that can disable his passive (mainly for the block), and Super Gogeta for nuking. Golden Frieza is basically like memory foam for taking damage, so he always helps in these events.
When the event begins, you get multiple turns before he begins attacking. You may be able to take advantage of some different items to produce as much Ki, and continually launch Super Attacks.
Here are ways you can nuke him down before he even attacks:
- Gather as much Ki from the map as you can before the battle
- Do everything you can to get Super Gogeta to launch super attacks
- Bring any items you want to try that will give extra ki
By doing this, by the time Broly begins attacking, you should only end up having to block a couple of times at most. This is where you will be happy to have that Golden Frieza and the AGI type characters that disable Rampage.
I would advise that you bring one of these characters to defeat the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly
These four characters do quite a lot of damage and are supposed to be able to disable his Rampage without the link skill Blazing Battle. I find that Brother’s Will Super Saiyan Gohan (Teen) is an incredible character for doing damage to LSS Broly, obviously aside from Super Gogeta. His Super Attack easily hits for over 100k each time.
The last piece of advice I can give is to make sure you have items ready for each scenario. For example, if Broly is about to perform Attack All and you cannot disable this, use Ghost Usher. Or if you happen to have a turn where you don’t have any decent blockers and he is about to attack, you may wish to Ghost Usher or use King Yemma.
